The protem committee chaired by TCCC president, Lo Su Fui and 15 committee members have met and for the shortterm solution, they are seeking a suitable location to store the remains for the bereaved family while waiting for an appropriate burial time.

Lo said he hoped a suitable place could be found as soon as possible for the time being as this service is specially created for the Tiong Hua community regardless of the different clans and religions.

He informed the media that their first meeting was held at a restaurant here yesterday morning.

“For the long term solution, the committee will try to obtain a piece of land and build a funeral parlor on it to be equipped by various services for the bereaved family to store their remains. We also plan to appoint a company to handle the daily running of the parlour while the committee will just monitor its administration,” he said.

According to him, the Tiong Hua funeral parlor will be welfare-based where profits gained will be donated to schools, religious bodies and other welfare bodies.
