PAS Labuan lodges police report against Tengku Adnan over deviant claims
LABUAN: Parti Islam Semalaysia (PAS) Labuan has lodged a police report for the remarks made by Federal Territory Minister, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor on Sunday at Labuan Police Headquarters.
The deputy president of PAS Labuan, Hadnan Mohamad, claimed that the minister had accused the Islamic political party as a party that brought deviant Islamic teachings.
"We decided to make t he police report after he slandered PAS in his speech during their gathering for the National Multaqa of Umno Religious Bureau on November 2 at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur.
"In his speech he also accused PAS of using Quranic verses for political gain. His accusation is baseless with bad intention to create enmity among the people especially among the Muslims here in this country.
"I do believe that his remarks have crime elements to incite others that can be investigated and charged under the stipulated law," he said, adding that the remarks could tarnish the image of PAS members.
Hadnan was also the former PAS candidate for Labuan Parliamentary in the last general election.
Meanwhile, when asked during his visit here on the same day the police report was lodged, Tengku Adnan declined to comment about the issue.
Also present was the president of PAS Labuan, Hamir Zahari and its committee members.
