KUALA LUMPUR: The National Undergraduates Leadership Conference 2014 (Pemanas 2014) which begins here on Thursday, will discuss the survival of Malay graduates from the educational, employment and economic aspects, as well as their general welfare.

Jointly organised by the Umno Education Bureau and the Umno Overseas Club Secretariat, the four-day conference will discuss the approach of moderation as well as current-day threats towards Islam.

It will also discuss the role of the new media in the national political scenario, as well as the involvement of undergraduates in formulating government policies.

Umno Malaysia's Education Bureau chairman, Senator Tan Sri Prof Dr Ibrahim Abu Shah hoped all 240 delegates, comprising local and overseas undergraduates, would give their views, suggestions and criticisms which could add to their roles in the issues.

“The number of observers who are undergraduates, administrators, lecturers, corporate members and politicians has also increased to 70.

“We welcome views from diverse thinking and give an opportunity to undergraduates through Pemanas 2014,” he said at a press conference on the coming event at Menara Dato Onn here yesterday.

Themed 'Undergraduates Leading National Transformation', Pemanas 2014 enters its second year organising the conference, held in conjunction with the Umno General Assembly, with its concept of Parliamentary and 'Select Committee concept. – Bernama
