Bina Puri gets RM49.87 mln job from Brilliant Corridor

Bina Puri Holdings’ unit, Bina Puri Sdn Bhd, has won a tender to undertake a RM49.87 million project from Brilliant Corridor Sdn Bhd.

Bina Puri is to construct and complete the infrastructural works on a land adjacent to Station 01 of the proposed extension of the Light Rail Transit Ampang Line to Putra Heights (Ampang Line LRT Extension Project).

The said land at Awan Besar, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, is being prepared for mixed development by Brilliant Corridor and Prasarana Malaysia Bhd.

Its group managing director, Tan Sri Datuk Tee Hock Seng, said this tender award by Brilliant Corridor was a sterling recognition of Bina Puri’s capability to deliver its undertakings on time.

“It is crucial that this project to construct infrastructural works at Awan Besar must be completed in time with the commencement of operations at Station 01 if this were to mean anything to enhance Prasarana’s LRT services,” he said in a statement yesterday.

In filing to Bursa Malaysia, Bina Puri announced that its unit has accepted the letter of award (LoA) from Brilliant Corridor.

Bina Puri said the project should be completed within eight months.

The works entail, among others, the construction and completion of new main access road, re-alignment of existing roads, underpass, vehicular box culverts, retaining walls, surface car parks, and covered walkway.

Station 01 at Awan Besar is the first station i n the proposed extension of the LRT Ampang Line (Ampang Line) to Putra Heights.

With the latest award, Bina Puri’s unbuilt book order stands at RM2.01 billion to date.

The company managed to secure new projects close to RM695 million for 2014.

The project is not expected to have any material effect on the net assets and earnings of Bina Puri Group for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2014. Bernama
