Kota Kinabalu’s UTC ePerolehan to offer GST rgistratio­n advice

KOTA KINABALU: The ePerolehan Centre (ePC) at the Urban Transforma­tion Centre(UTC) Sabah here, will of fer compan ies reg ist rat ion services f or the Goods and Service Tax (GST).

Suriati Mohd Mokhtar, Deputy President, Corporate Communicat­ions and Marketing, Commerce Dot Com Sdn Bhd, Said the ePC will offer the service in cooperatio­n with the Customs Department.

“In line with the call by the government, the ePC, will offer the registrati­on service as well as training for the GST. We will work with the Customs Department to enhance further the number of GST registrati­ons from among government suppliers,” she told Bernama.

The UTC Sabah, which has been in operation since Dec 16, 2013 was of f icially opened by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Sunday night.

Suriati said the UTC Sabah is a one-stop centre for government suppl iers undertakin­g ePerolehan business.

She added that the ePC services offered at the UTC involves customer services, PC pool and as a training centre.

There are 16 such cent res throughout the country with seven at UTC nationwide.

According to Suriati, t he centre receives enquiries from about 15,000 companies monthly on how to become government suppliers, make payments and attending trainings.

Commerce Dot Com is a public commerce solut ions provider which enables business transactio­n between private companies and the government. Positioned as a mediator, the company’s focus is to serve as a catalyst between the two via ePerolehan. — Bernama
