Comedian Cho Lam admits being a chauvinistic boyfriend
HONG KONG: Comedian Wong Cho Lam has been dating actress Leanne Li for six years, and he’s quick to admit that he’s somewhat chauvinistic.
In showbiz circles in Hong Kong, they are known as the “beauty and the beast”. She’s tall and beautiful, while he’s short and absolutely ugly.
Minus his camera-friendly wacky sense of humour, Cho Lam could have ended up shining shoes in Central.
Describing Leanne, Cho Lam said: “She is an indecisive person. But there’s nothing you can do about it; a needle cannot have two pointed ends.
If you want a person to be gentle, the natural drawback is indecisiveness. If you want a person to lead you, then naturally, the person will not always accommodate you. So it is important to weigh things out. If I love this side of her, I will have to accept the other side that comes with it.”
Marriage is being planned. Cho Lam wants to postpone having children so they can continue to focus on their careers.
He added: “Besides, I don’t want her to feel unsettled. I want her to have the chance to experience everything she wants to. We can consider having children later. I don’t want her to have any regrets in the future.”
Cho Lam had written the scripts for TVB comedies Inbound Troubles and Come On, Cousin, and is credited with boosting the careers of cast members Ivana Wong, Louis Cheung and May Chan.
Leanne has also been cast in Come on, Cousin.
