KOTA KINABALU: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sabah deputy liaison chief Christina Liew has called on the women movement of the party and fellow Pakatan Rakyat components to stand strong behind the struggles of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Api Api assemblywoman also stressed that PKR’s ‘Reformasi’ must be continued so that the country can be reformed into a better one.

“The spirit of Reformasi must go on… just because you lock up Anwar doesn’t mean that we are going to slow down. Our objective is Reformasi, we want to reform many things, the economy, the government and we also want judicial independence, economy. This is what we are fighting for,” she said during a press conference by Pakatan Rakyat Sabah here yesterday.

“What we are fighting for is not just for us but for our future generations. So I urge all women in Sabah not to lose hope but instead be united and we must go on, we must go forward because women play a very important role.

“In the coming election, the women’s role can be seen, especially now when women are very aware of what is going on. I encourage all the Women movements (in Pakatan Rakyat) to recruit more members. I encourage you all to start your planning for the coming election so we can install in a good government. If we go on like this, there is no future anymore,” she said.

Christina also pointed out that the presence of all the Pakatan Rakyat Sabah leaders at the press conference showed they are united.

“We are in the same family. (Whether) You like it or not and you may have a little bit of quarrel but we are a family. We must not lose our spirit, especially in this time of crisis where our leader was imprisoned last week.

“Like what Datuk Lajim (Ukin) said just now you can lock up Datuk Anwar behind bars but you cannot lock up the thousands of ‘Anwars’ throughout the country who share his passion and vision,” she said.
