Perak snatch Super League lead

KUALA LUMPUR: Perak overtook Lions XII of Singapore to lead the Super League after defeating Armed Forces ( ATM) 20 di at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi, Seremban Friday night.

At Stadium Negeri, Kuching, Sarawak secured a 3-1 victory over Terengganu to take third spot.

Billy Mehmet Osman got things going for Sarawak with the first goal in the third minute before Ashri Chuchu made it two up in in the 5th minute.

Brazilian import, Paulo Rangel managed to reduce the deficit for Terengganu in the 14th minute before Joseph Kalang Tie sealed victory for Sarawak in the 39th minute.

In Kuantan, Pahang had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Selangor at their home stadium Stadium Darul Makmur. Pahang’s Argentinia­n import Matias Conti had put the ‘Tok Gajah’ ahead in the 58th minute only to see the advantage neutralise­d by Andik Vermansah eight minutes later.

Pahang had to play with 10 men near the end of the match after their midfielder Mohd Hafiz Kamal was sent off by referee Nagor Amir Noor Mohamed for picking up two yellow cards.

Defending champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), meanwhile, suffered a shock 0 -1 defeat to Police at the Shah Alam Stadium with Gambian import Mohamadou Sumareh the toast of ‘The Cops’ when he scored the solitary goal in the 75th minute.

The match between Kelantan and Lions XII which was supposed to be played at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium, Kota Bharu has been postponed to Saturday as a mark of respect over the passing of PAS spiritual leader and former Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat who died of prostate cancer on Thursday. - Bernama
