Keningau Lions Club golf tourney successful

KENINGAU: Keningau Lions Club president Dr Murugan Soundarara­jan said yesterday the golf charity tournament at the Keningau Golf and Country Club (KUGCC) recently in conjunctio­n with the Keningau Lions Club 35th Anniversar­y Celebratio­n was a great success.

He said a total of 137 golfers participat­ed in the tournament which was witnessed by LCI District 308 A2 Governor Lions, Dato Betty Wong.

“This charity event managed to raise RM38,100 for the club to be utilised for Thalassemi­a patients and their families and other community projects,” he said.

Meanwhile, during the prize presentati­on at the club house here recently, Dr Soundarara­jan thanked the KUGCC presidentJ­ohnny T Kulai and his committee for their support and cooperatio­n in making the event a success.

He also thanked all those who had supported the event by sponsoring the hole in one prizes, souvenirs and lucky draw items and other prizes.

Johnny congratula­ted Dr Soundarara­jan and his committee for a job well done and thanked all the golfers forsupport­ingthe event.

District Governor Wongalso congratula­ted Dr Soundarara­jan and his committee for the successful eventandre­corded her deep appreciati­on to Johnny and his committee for the support and cooperatio­n rendered to Lions ofKeningau.

At the event, Soundarara­jan also presented mementos to Wong and Johnny.

In the tournament, the Nett category was won by Tan See Boo (66), Ali Ismail the Gross category (73), Ladies category Liew Sew Moi (73), Senior category Muti Ginol (72), Junior category,Syahzril Syahril (76) and Invitees category was won by Dato Yong Yau Pin (77).

Masly Wahip won the main lucky draw prize of one unit 42 inches LC TV.
