Meet the man with the most unfortunate name

-

MEET the man who might just have the most unfortunate surname in the world - Guilherme Carabagiale F*ck.

Day-to-day, the Brazilian-born college student - who is currently studying in Canada - opts for his second–last name to avoid any confusion.

But when he arrives at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association’s national basketball championships, the rising sportsman’s jersey will now be emblazoned with ‘F*ck’ instead of ‘Carabagiale’.

Mr F*ck, a student at Medicine Hat College in Alberta, claims he is keen to embrace his real surname, which is of German heritage.

The 6 ft 5 inches sportsman told a local newspaper: “It doesn’t mean what people think it means. In German it means ‘fox’.

“When they asked my opinion I said I want to have my last-last name - I’m not ashamed of it.

“I would rather always use my last-last name. Back in Brazil that’s what I use, I don’t use my first-last name. “

And Mr F*ck isn’t the only person who thought the basketball player, who plays for the college’s Rattlers team, should return to his real name.

His coach Craig Price said: “In a lot of ways, at the beginning we were just going to avoid any confusion or any potential issues, whereas now we’re at the point of, this is the guy’s name - he’s an all-Canadian.

“We shouldn’t be avoiding it, he’s proud of being a Rattler and we want to support him.”

He added: “He takes great pride in his heritage, in where he comes front, and technically in what his name is.”

And for the record F*ck is pronounced “foo-kee.”
