MaGIC led a delegation of Malaysian startups to the Echelon Asia Summit 2015 to showcase their products and services at one of Asia’s most anticipated tech conferences in Singapore.

According to a press release, out of 80 applications received to join the Malaysian delegation, 15 startups of various verticals, ranging from e-commerce to hardware, have been selected based on their ideas, traction gained since launch and their readiness to expand regionally.

They will represent Malaysia with their respective booths at the first ever Malaysian Pavilion at Echelon, powered by MaGIC. Each of the selected startups will have access to global media exposure and a private pitching session with a group of regional investors curated by e27.

In addition to these 15 startups, MaGIC also sponsored 30 startup passes to other Malaysian entrepreneurs.

“This initiative by MaGIC is in line with one of our missions to develop entrepreneurs of sustainable, high growth start-ups that will make a positive impact at a regional or global scale, with over 200 Malaysians representing over 100 different startups at this regional summit.

“Our aim is to provide regional exposure to our Malaysian startups, and promote engagement and networking with regional investors. These regional ties and network could be beneficial and pivotal to their future growth,” said Cheryl Yeoh, CEO of MaGIC.

Dubbed as the largest tech conference in Asia, the two-day Echelon Asia Summit started yesterday at The Singapore EXPO, with all delegates forging new alliances with Asia’s most noteworthy startup and investment players, while building long-lasting investment, trade and market-access partnerships.

“MaGIC’s collaboration with e27 for Echelon Asia Summit is timely as we focus on expanding our initiatives and programmes to cover ASEAN to grow more regionally focused startups in 2015.

“Everything we do at MaGIC will be scalable, sustainable and community-centric, echoing our mandates of supporting an entrepreneurial community, enhancing the startup ecosystem and exposing success stories as well as inspiring the people,” added Yeoh.

Among the 15 selected startups under the MaGIC delegation are; 8spaces, Aztetic Sdn Bhd, Billplz, BloomThis, Crowdsourcehire, DIY Printing Supply Sdn Bhd, Eclimo Sdn Bhd, Favechic, Foodbits, Playme AR, Posto Express PLT, RecomN.com, Slurp, The Lorry and Wonderbucks Berhad.
