Pahang stretch lead

KUALA LUMPUR: Pahang stretched their lead in the Super League by two points after edging Police 1-0 at the Darul Makmur, Kuantan Tuesday night.

The Elephants now have 26 points after 12 matches while nearest challenger Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), who also collected three points tonight, have 24 points.

In Tuesday night’s action, substitute Azidan Sarudin was the hero for the east coast side when he slotted home a cross supplied by Mohd Fauzi Rozlan in the dying minutes of the match.

JDT downed Terengganu 2-0 at the Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium, Larkin with Mohd Aidil Zafuan Abd Radzak getting the first in added time in the first half and Luciano Figuero netting their second also in added time of the second half.

Selangor kept third place after edging Felda United FC 1-0 at the Shah Alam Stadium with defender Robert Cornthwait­e netting the winner in the 38th minute.

The Red Giants share 21 points with Perak but have a superior goal difference.

Perak on the other hand notched their sixth win this season when they defeated Sarawak 3-1 at the Perak Stadium, Ipoh.

Their Brazilian import Charles Souza Chad netted a brace with his goals coming in the 11th and 32nd minutes before Billy Mehmet Osman reduced the deficit for the visitors in the 48th minute.

Perak’s South Korean import Namkung Woong sealed victory with their third goal in the 59th minute.

Elsewhere, Armed Forces and Lions XII of Singapore played to a 1-1 draw at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi while the match between Sime Darby FC and Kelantan at the Selayang Stadium also ended up with the same result. – Bernama
