Bakisa packs Raya goodies for security forces

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Barisan Nasional Elected Representa­tives’ Wives Charitable Organisati­on (Bakisa) members packed Hari Raya goodies for the security forces serving in Sabah.

“There are a total of 18 boxes. It will be sent to nine security forces, namely the Royal Malaysia Police, Task Force Base, the Royal Malaysian Navy, the Royal Malaysian Air Force, Bernama Task Force 2, Maritime Enforcemen­t Agency, Eastern Sabah Security Command, Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia and Malaysian Prisons Department,” said Bakisa head Datin Seri Panglima Faridah Tussin at a press conference held at Bakisa House here yesterday.

“This is especially dedicated to those serving in the State for their devotion and sacrifice in safeguardi­ng the national security,” added Faridah, who is also the wife of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman.

According to Faridah, the handover ceremony will be held on July 2 at Tun Ahmad Raffae Auditorium, Menara Tun Mustapha and will be officiated by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Aman.

“We hope these assortment­s of Raya goodies will cheer and boost the Hari Raya Aidilfitri atmosphere for security forces who are on duty at the country’s operationa­l and border areas away from their families during that time,” she said.

This year over 20 Bakisa members took part in the annual tradition that has been organized for over 20 years. Each security force will receive two boxes containing 10 bags of goodies each.
