Man slashed to death by younger brother in fight over fasting

KUALA LANGAT: A man was killed after he was slashed on the neck by his younger brother in an incident in Jalan Orchid, Eighth Mile, Sijangkang, Teluk Panglima Garang, here, yesterday.

Kuala Langat District Police chief Supt Zailan Tasir said the victim, aged 32, was seen quarrellin­g with the suspect in their house before the incident at6pm.

“The victim had a heated argument with his 26-year-old brother because the latter did not fast.

“Subsequent­ly, a fight broke out when the victim took a long metal bar from the kitchen and the suspect followed suit and grabbed a knife,” he told reporters at the scene yesterday.

Zailan said the suspect slashed his elder brother on the left side of the neck during the scuffle causing severe injury.

“The suspect stopped attacking his elder brother when he saw the victim was bleeding profusely.

“Because of the injury, the victim left the house with a friend in a Proton Wira belonging to the suspect and headed for the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR), Klang,” he said.

Zailan said, however, the victim was confirmed dead while on the way to HTAR.

He said, following the incident, police detained the suspect for further investigat­ion and the case was investigat­ed under Section 302 of the Penal Code. - Bernama
