EPF to include ASB2 under Members Investment Scheme

-

KUALA LUMPUR: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) will include the Amanah Saham Bumiputera 2 (ASB2) under its EPF Members Investment Scheme (EPF-MIS), effective July 1.

"With the inclusion of the ASB2, there will be nine funds offered under the EPF-MIS and managed by Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB)," said Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Investment), Mohamad Nasir Ab Latif in a statement.

"Members who wish to subscribe for the ASB2 units can do so through ASNB," he added.

The EPF-MIS allows members to voluntarily transfer a portion of savings from their Account 1 for investments in approved unit trust funds through 24 Fund Management Institutions (FMIs) appointed under the EPF-MIS, and offering them an option to enhance retirement savings. Under the scheme, members may transfer not more than 20 per cent every three months, of the total savings from Account 1 in excess of their respective basic savings. Mohamad Nasir also encouraged members to make full use of the EPF-MIS Information Portal to obtain information on unit trust funds offered under the EPF-MIS, as well as, the FMIs managing them.

The portal, launched in April 2015, is an initiative by the EPF to allow members to conduct their own research before deciding on any investment.

The information provided in the portal does not carry any form of investment advice or recommendations on any of the unit trust funds and FMIs. – Bernama
