- By Jenne Lajiun

KOTA KINABALU: Fast food restaurant, Borenos Sdn Bhd, has officially launched its first restaraunt at Star City Complex near here yesterday.

The restaurant is Sabahanowned and the name ‘Borenos’ is derived from the words ‘Borneo’ and ‘Sabah’.

Restaurant director Janice Yeo said that the restaurant emphasises on quality and uses international standards in its monitoring food preparation methods.

She explained that the reason they abided by the international food rating system was because they wanted to raise their customers’ trust on the quality of food served at the restaurant.

She added that to ensure the freshness of the meat used in their food preparation, they source locally instead of importing from other countries.

Speaking at the launching of the restaurant yesterday, Yeo also believed that the menus they have caters for all levels of the community.

The prices of food items at the restaurant range from RM1 to RM73.

They serve coleslaw, french fries, spicy soup, chicken porridge, Borenos rice, Wedges, mashed potato and others.

Kota Kinabalu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry president, Datuk Michael Lui Yen Sang said that they were always supportive of businesses that would help improve the economy and promote Malaysian menus.

He said that the restaurant was capable of becoming a popular eatery for the people in Sabah.

He also commended the ambiance at the restaurant citing that it was clean, simple and a comfort to visit.

Also present at the event was City Hall audit division’s head, Dorin Thomas Stuel Galid who was representing Mayor Datuk Abidin Madingkir.
