BN to do better in S’wak – Mah

KOTA KINABALU: Gerakan president Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong has expressed confidence that Barisan Nasional (BN) will perform better in the coming Sarawak state election.

He put this down to the fact that people are starting to see how hard BN is working and that the Coalition has more to offer them.

Speaking to reporters at the Gerakan Sabah’s annual Chinese New Year open house here yesterday, Mah said that Gerakan Sabah would be sending its representatives to Sarawak to help out its BN component members campaign in the state election.

“We know that Sarawak will be holding its state election in April this year and after a few visits to Sarawak, I am confident that this year the BN will perform better than the last election. I think the mood has changed and people are starting to realize that BN is working hard and has more to offer.

“I have also spoken to my comrades here in Sabah and our Sabah leaders will be going over to Sarawak the next two months to help BN Sarawak so that it will do well in the state election,” he said, adding that Gerakan Sabah has good cooperation with BN component parties in Sarawak.

According to the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Gerakan Sabah had worked very hard not only in areas where it has elected representatives.

He has met with most of the division leaders and informed them to also beef up the machinery, to start more work politically in every area to help to ensure that Barisan Nasional (BN) is ready (to face the 14th general election).
