Two M’sian pro boxers snag chance to gain exposure on world stage
KUALA LUMPUR: Two Malaysian professional boxers have snagged the chance to use the World Professional Boxing Federation (WPBF) championship as a platform to gain exposure and experience on the world stage.
Mohammad Shehran Abdullah will take on Indonesia's Mujiyono in the four-round featherweight category while Jonathon clashes with Heri Andritanto, also from Indonesia, in the six-round welterweight category today.
After some 40 years, Malaysian boxing fans, would also get the chance to watch world title belt encounter in the welterweight category between Mexico's Juan Bedolla Orezco and Uzbekistan's Qudratillo Abduqahorov.
The 22 year-olds would be involved in the 10-round bout which would be the highlight of the Black Tie Boxing night
"These boxers will challenge each other with their skills and boxing prowess," said chairman and founder of Capstone Sports Sdn Bhd, Vikram Sivapragasam, in a statement yesterday.
Vikram said the chance of winning the World Youth Belt has attracted young boxers from Belarus, Brazil, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Russia, Singapore and Uzbekistan.
The young boxers would fight in different weight categories, namely Featherweight, Super Lightweight, Super Bantamweight, Welterweight and Heavyweight. - Bernama
