KDMM FC want to end first round on winning note

-

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah KDMM FC must win against KL MOF FC to remain on track to achieve a top four position in Group B of the FAM Cup league challenge.

The teams will face off at the INSPEN Stadium in Bangi at 8:45pm tonight.

And KDMM FC are determined to claim not only all three points but to close the first round fixtures on a winning note.

"It is the last game of the first round and it will be much better to conclude the round with a win.

"Furthermore a victory would put us in a better position to achieve our target to be in the top four in the group.

"MOF FC are second on 10 points while we are sixth in the table but trailing by only two points. This has added significant to the match and that it is very important to win," said team captain Datuk Peter Anthony when met here yesterday.

According to him, the three points would also put the team in a comfortable position to challenge for the top four in the second round of the league.

"The atmosphere within the squad is very good and so are the players who are very determined. I hope this will be a positive sign for us," added Peter who is also KDM Malaysia president.

Head coach Andrew Majanggim is expected to put his trust on the same set of players that won 1-0 against Hanelang FC last Sunday.

"Eighteen players have been included for the game and all of them are capable of playing in the first eleven.

"I hope our strategy will work well. We need the three points and it is not going to be easy but I believe in the team.

"If they can produce their best form and minimise mistakes, the chance of winning is better or at the very least we will not return empty handed," he said.

The 18-man squad consisted of Endre Ss Tipay, Mohd Yusri Jamrin, Ian James Wong, Yazili Yunat, Ramadin Anduhut, Peter Anthony, Muhammad Mohd Safar, Zuraindey Jumai, Rosdin Wasli, Rick Marseel Gueh, Jackson Taguah, Helmezey Jonis, Jeerians Judin, Mohd Helmi Sudin, Dan Joseph, Benerlys Raim, Josesua Jubin and Rezuan Muhd Radzy.
