EDUCATION is growing in importance globally and in Malaysia. Opportunit­ies are increasing whilst competitio­n for entry into degree programs is also intensifyi­ng.

Today, a Master’s degree has become essential for continuous personal developmen­t and career advancemen­t in teaching and related careers.

It is ideal for graduates working in nurseries, schools, colleges, universiti­es, health care, commercial institutio­ns and those supporting non-formal learning as well as education leaders and policy makers.

Fuelled by market needs, Asia e University (AeU) offers a two-year Master of Education (MEd) Degree Programme with 10 specialisa­tions to choose from – Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), Nursing Education, Early Childhood Education, Educationa­l Psychology, Instructio­nal Technology, Educationa­l Management, Science Education, Educationa­l Assessment & Evaluation, Curriculum & Instructio­n and Higher Education Teaching.

The objective of this programme is to update knowledge and specialise­d skills to enhance the individual’s profession­al career.

Liew Chee Foh, a Chairman Award winner ofAeU’s 5thConovat­ion 2015, works as a full-time tutor in the Medical Assistant Training Programme.

He served in public health care services before embarking on training of allied health personnel. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Health Care and BSc (Hons) in Health Science, both by distance learning mode. Currently he is the Head of Medical Assistant Programme atAllied Health Science College, Kota Kinabalu.

The MEd programme assessment­s include two assignment­s (60 pct) and examinatio­n (40 pct).

Delivery of programme is either fully-online or blended learning (a combinatio­n of face to face tutorials and online learning) where students can choose according to their lifestyles.
