Over 1,000 take part in Tambunan Kaamatan Charity Run
TAMBUNAN: More than 1,000 people took part in the 13kilometre Tambunan Kaamatan Charity Run which was flagged off by Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Infrastructure Development, Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan, yesterday.
Among those who joined in the run were the permanent secretary to the Ministry of Infrastructure Development, Datuk Michael Emban, district officer Thomas Logijin, SAFA deputy president Datuk Lawrence Gimbang, Sabah Water Department deputy director Ir Teo Chee Kong, and community leaders and students.
The run was divided into three categories, comprising of men’s and women’s open, men and women veterans and youth boys and girls.
In the men’s open category, the winner was Wincentbert Latius, while second and third place were won by Fabian Osmond and Sapirin Sumping respectively. The rest who made up the top 10 were Walter Herman, Safrey Sumping, Pung Tsun Kuo, Elvin Lazarus, Imran, Henry Lee and Roger Herman.
In the women’s open category, the winner was Liza Joseph, Cerolyn Michael B first runner-up and Sofie third place. The others who made up the top 10 were Elvina Jimin, Christine Pavald, Corrine Linggingon, Caroline Oombe, Munikah Ginsos, Raynee Kumilay and Bibot Juma.
The men’s veteran category was won by Ruston Maski while second and third placings went to Yusop Tungkoh and Dydimus Talaji respectively. Making up the top ten were Asmady T, Jamais Junim, Suhaipin Surin, Fredoline Nasir, Joel Joseph, Mohd Ridhuan Abdullah and Edmond Gusui.
The women’s veteran category was won by Chong Vun Lung with Hamisah Antahar in second place and Katarina Anderson in third place. Making up the top 10 were Barbara Edward, Wilbinah Bahoi, Rusinah Soligi @ Deffna, Linda Pocing, Tan Yoke Lee, Anita Joseph and Alice Benjamin.
In the youth boys category, Gregory Cornelius Lusius finished first while Dunney Marius and Sylvester Alexius were second and third respectively. Taking the fourth and fifth spots were Elvin Kamilip and Adrian Joseph respectively.
The youth girl’s category was won by Joan Iton with the second, third, fourth and fifth placings going to Annmary Acubeth, Kelly Peter, Teresita Brinda Yasing and Steavaynie Ginadus respectively.
All the prizes were presented by Pairin, who is also Keningau member of parliament and Tambunan assemblyman.
