TM provides free WiFi access at Centre Point Sabah

-

KOTA KINABALU: Shoppers at Centre Point Sabah can now enjoy free access to TM WiFi broadband wireless connection following a collaboration between Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) Sabah and the management of the shopping mall.

The WiFi connectivity utilizes TM's latest high speed broadband technology, which enables the shopping mall patrons to access the Internet.

TM's broadband customers will get free access to TM WiFi with a daily quota of 500Mb with speed of up to 2Mbps, while non-TM customers will be able to enjoy up to half an hour of free WiFi access per day.

TM Sabah general manager Haji Sukkuriya Haji Masri said the free TM WiFi service started three years ago, focusing on Centre Point Sabah, Karamunsing Complex, Wisma Merdeka and selected locations in Sandakan, Tawau, Keningau, Beaufort and Papar.

“To date, TM WiFi is available at 200 locations in Sabah,”he told the press after launching the TM WiFi with Paul Kung Pao Hsiang, general manager of PanPacific Construction Holding Sdn Bhd on behalf of Centre Point management here yesterday.

Sukkuriya said TM is striving to make life easier for the people in Sabah, especially its customers.

He said the TM WiFi was part of the convergence programme brought about by the company, to enable users to enjoy fixed line, broadband and Internet mobility, in line with its 'Life Made Easier' and 'Business Made Easier' promise.

“We are also embarking on bringing UniFi into Sabah. This year, Kota Kinabalu, Putatan, Inanam, Penampang, Tawau, Sandakan, Keningau and Kota Belud will have UniFi,” he added.

“As Malaysia's Convergence Champion, we are committed to delivering seamless experience across all segments to enhance daily activities of both our residential customers and our business customers, hence empowering the communities, enriching their lives and contributing to the nation's development,” Sukkuriya said.

In addition, to increase public awareness on the availability of TM WiFi service offering in the area as well as other TM products and services, the company has also opened up an experiential booth to enable members of the public to experience services, including UniFi and HyppTV.

There are also counters for product consultations, and demonstration as well as showcases of TM products and latest offerings throughout the two-day exhibition.

To liven up the day, various activities have been lined up for the public to participate, including children colouring contest, fun karaoke, games and busker performances.
