Sultan concerned over deviant teachings in S’gor

-

SHAH ALAM: The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has expressed concern at the failure to fully eradicate deviant teachings in Selangor.

He said he did not want the people of Selangor to fall into situations which could undermine their religious faith and practices due to the subtle influence of misguided individuals with vested interest.

More worrying, he said, was when unity, oneness and harmony of community life started to disappear.

“The feeling of mutual respect, kinship and love are eroded due to endless political sentiments while the culture of slander and exposing the shortcomings of others become widespread in society.

“Defamation in the era of information technology and a borderless world, is a thorn in the side to the wellbeing of society. The country and also powerful empires can be destroyed by slander,” he said when closing a state-level Mosque Officials, Takmir, and Quran and Fardu Ain Class Teachers’ Conference, here, yesterday. - Bernama

Man slept with wife’s corpse for several nights

LIMBANG: It was the macabre side of a husband’s undying love, when he slept with his wife’s corpse for several nights at their house at Kampung Buangsiul here, without facing up to the inevitable.

According to a source, only the couple was in the house during the incident. The husband, Hidup Durahman who was believed to be of unsound mind, had faithfully stayed by the side his wife Lusi Tuyu, 79, who was very ill, and who was likely to have been dead for several days.

He only realised on Wednesday afternoon that his wife had passed away when noticing that she was motionless.

He then informed his neighbour of the incident and upon checking, the wife was believed to have died several days ago and her body was emitting stench.

Police was subsequently notified and came to the scene at 6.14pm.

No trace of foul play was found and the case had been classified as sudden death. The body had been sent to Limbang Hospital for post mortem.
