BBC gives ‘Top Gear’ a sister show: ‘Extra Gear’
THE BBC has confirmed that the next season of “Top Gear”, with new hosts Matt LeBlanc and Chris Evans, will be accompanied by a web spinoff, “Extra Gear” hosted by Rory Reid.
The show’s previous hosts, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond all left “Top Gear” last year, and have been replaced by Matt LeBlanc, Chris Evans, Sabine Schmitz, Chris Harris, Eddie Jordan and Rory Reid.
“Extra Gear” will broadcast on BBC Three and BBC Worldwide immediately after “Top Gear” on BBC Two, Sunday evening, and will provide a “peek behind the (Top Gear) curtain.”
Reid is a British journalist who has already presented shows Sky Television’s “Gadget Geeks”, CNET’s “Car Tech” and “Fast, Furious & Funny” on YouTube. — Relaxnews
