RTM, KSS celebrate fourth anniversary of children’s program
KOTA KINABALU: Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) and the Kadazan Society Sabah (KSS) celebrated the fourth anniversary of their joint weekly radio programme ‘Halaman Kanak-Kanak’ which features short stories in Kadazan language written by Blasius Binjua and presented by talented Kadazan children below six years old.
The stories presented generated a lot of interests among the children as well as the adult listeners and arising from this programme, many Kadazan children have been trained as presenters during the last four years.
In conjunction with the anniversary, KSS president Datuk Marcel Leiking, accompanied by KSS supreme council members, paid a courtesy call to RTM director Haji Ali Ngasio at his office on April 25.
Both RTM and KSS agreed that there is still room to improve the children’s programme to help the Kadazan community to preserve their mother tongue by encouraging the young children to speak in Kadazan.
