Opposition bent on destroying Umno, BN — Sabri

-

KENINGAU: The opposition is trying “various stunts” in its attempt to destroy Umno and the Barisan Nasional (BN), said Umno supreme council member Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) issue was an example.

Despite investigations conducted by the authorities and Public Account Committee (PAC) - whose membership also comprises opposition MPs and the National Audit Department - which found no proof of abuse of power, the opposition still refused to accept the truth, he said.

“It was admitted by Rafizi (Ramli) (Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) vice-president) in a video clip that his duty was to instigate the people to hate Umno.

“Currently, together with other parties which become their proxies, they are instigating the people to hate Umno,” he told reporters after simultaneously opening the Pensiangan, Tenom and Keningau Umno divisions delegates’ meetings here yesterday.

As such, Ismail Sabri said, Umno and BN members and their leadership must reply to all the opposition’s accusations and propaganda to prevent Umno members and the public from being influenced by the instigations of opposition parties like PKR and DAP.

Touching on the same issue in his speech, Ismail Sabri reminded all Umno members and leaders not to be influenced by the opposition propaganda but on the other hand to continue giving full support and trust to the Umno leadership and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

He said loyalty to the leadership was the tradition of Umno which must be defended because it is the strength of the party in facing challenges and defending its robustness to continue to be in power to rule the country and to look after the well-being of the Malays and Bumiputeras. Bernama
