32 Sabahans receive Guinness World Records certificate for mass sewing
KOTA KINABALU: Thirty-two women from Sabah yesterday received their Guinness World Records certificate for their participation in a mass sewing event in Putrajaya, last April.
They were among 606 participants from across the nation who had also received recognition for joining the event themeed ‘Be A Part of The Breakthrough And Make Someone’s Dreams Come True’, organised by Creative Sewing Art Association (PSJK) and Pusat Latihan Kraftangan Epal.
The certificates for the Sabahans were handed over by the Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Madius Tangau, here, yesterday.
Speaking to the reporters, Tangau said, such events could further nurture talent of participants who have serious interest in sewing and develop their creativity, which subsequently could turn into their source of income.
PSJK Chairman, Fully Chye said the success hopefully could inspire all participants to start a new chapter in improving their quality of life.
A participant Datin Chau Chi @ Sliewsen, 32, said it was a valuable experience and a proud achievement for her to have joined the event, besides it serving as a platform to develop her potential in sewing.
