Carey gave Cannon a Ferrari as part of divorce
MARIAH Carey gave Nick Cannon a Ferrari as part of their divorce settlement.
The couple split up two years ago but only finalised the paperwork a few weeks ago, and the terms of their agreement have now been revealed, with their five-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe primarily living with their mother.
However, Cannon shares joint custody with the 46-year-old singer, and when he visits the kids, Carey has agreed to pay his travel and lodging expenses, TMZ reports.
In addition, the ‘America’s Got Talent’ host has to put US$5,000 a month in a trust fund for the youngsters, which the ‘Fantasy’ singer doesn’t contribute to, though she did agree to sign over the luxury 2012 vehicle to her former spouse.
There is also a clause in the agreement that states the twins are not allowed to refer to anyone other than Carey and Cannon — who married in 2008 — as their parental figures, meaning they can’t call anyone else mom or dad, or variations on the terms.
Perhaps most surprisingly, the figures show Carey — who requested a rumoured US$50 million from her former fiance James Packer when they split last month — earned just US$6.3 million, while Cannon took home US$2.5 million in 2014.
Cannon and Carey have stayed close for the sake of their kids, and the rapper-and-presenter recently vowed to be the “best” father he can be to the twins.
Meanwhile, Cannon has confirmed he is to be a father again.
Cannon joked he is “doing the Lord’s work” following the news his on/off lover Brittany Bell is having his baby.
Asked about Bell’s pregnancy on the ‘Breakfast Club’, he said: “Who said it wasn’t mine?
“I’ve got a baby on the way ... absolutely ... God said be fruitful and multiply. I’m doing the Lord’s work ... everybody get a baby! I’m passing them out.”
While he was open about his baby, Cannon, 36, played coy when asked about Carey’s recent split from Packer.
After being told “Mariah’s available again”, he replied: “Is she? You know better than me. Is she?”
And after he was then informed the couple have called off their engagement, Cannon acted surprised and said: “Did they? I thought they was working it out.
“I’m on a need-to-know basis. As long as my kids are good...I don’t want to know none of that other stuff.”
Earlier this week, Bell — who is believed to be around six months pregnant — enjoyed a baby shower with her friends, including fellow former Miss USA contestants.
Sharing a photo of her pals touching her growing tummy, she wrote on Instagram: “A sweet moment of #celebration with a few of the many incredible women in my life. Missing the rest of you.
