Maxx Media awarded MSC Status

-

KOTA KINABALU: Yesterday marked another chapter for Maxx Media (S) Sdn Bhd as they were awarded the prestigious MSC status by the government body, Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) – a title that is significant for ICT and ICTfacilitated businesses that use multimedia technologies.

Maxx Media (S) is the holding company for Property Hunter, a brand that is synonymous with property related media and events in East Malaysia. Only five years old, this is another milestone for the company as they are shifting towards becoming a fully-integrated IT company and is the first, fully-owned Sabahan company to receive such status.

Caleb Tseu, IT Director of the company said, “We are one of the very few startup companies in Sabah that focus on IT, big data and mobile app development.

“ICT is now the backbone of every business, with social media, mobile app, big data and the cloud disrupting the way businesses run. Companies that have gone, or are en route towards digital will have an advantage against others. Currently, we are partly a publishing company, but it’s only a matter of time before we turn into a fully IT company,” he said.

On March 2, Maxx Media (S) made a courtesy visit to Datuk Bruno Vun, Permanent Secretary of Resource Development and Information Technology Ministry to inform him of the company’s achievement in receiving the MSC status and to brief him on their IT development.

“The journey is never easy and despite all the difficulties and challenges, Maxx Media (S) has worked very hard and has taken the necessary steps towards achieving the MSC status. This is something that other companies in Sabah should emulate,” said Vun.

Property Hunter’s web portal was launched in 2013 and was the first Sabah property portal to offer property listings for free. Agents have benefitted greatly from this and within a year, they have attracted the highest number of Sabah property listings in Malaysia, surpassing other property websites nationwide.

In January, this year, Maxx Media (S) launched the longawaited Property Hunter Mobile App. With the app, property listing and searching are made even simpler.

Some of the new features of the app include the QR code feature, whereby users of the app can enter any of the PH expos and events without having to wait in line to register manually at the registration desk. One exciting feature of the app is the PH Rewards section. Users get exclusive offers and discounts from any of the participating merchants, such as Adelphi & Co., Vino Vino, Tong Hing supermarket and many others.

Right now, anyone can stand a chance to win an iPhone 7 when they download the Property Hunter App until the 30th of June 2017. It is available on both iOS and Android.
