BN brought Malaysia to world stage — Kurup

-

KENINGAU: Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Joseph Kurup has urged the community at the grassroots level to open their minds and hearts to see the transparency of the government in ensuring the welfare and prosperity of the people can be improved both in terms of infrastructure development and human capital development.

He said all the changes brought by development would give a big impact in helping people enjoy the facilities more quickly and effectively.

“Various attempts have been made to ensure that this area is not neglected in development provided by the government,” he said when closing the KEMAS 4U Carnival organized by the State Community Development Department (KEMAS) at Kampung Panagatan Ulu in Sook here on Sunday.

To ensure the aims are achieved, he said the support and cooperation of all parties, including government departments and agencies is of utmost importance.

Kurup, who is also Pensiangan member of parliament, said the right information would help him in delivering government policy so that it can be understood by the grassroots people.

“The opposition is only good at making promises and wild accusations and slander to influence the people.

“History has proved that the Barisan Nasional (BN) has managed to bring the country to the world stage and managed to raise the living standards of the people in this country.

“We cannot escape from the effects of the global economy that also affects the country’s economy, but the government remains committed to helping the people to reduce their burden through programs such as the 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M), 1Malaysia Clinic, 1Malaysia People’s Shop (KR1M) and many more under the National Transformation Plan and 1Malaysia Program,” he said.

At the event, Kurup presented lucky draw prizes, cut the children’s hair and visited the stalls run by women entrepreneurs.
