SMK Likas ex-students to hold reunion dinner May 5
KOTA KINABALU: A reunion dinner for former students of SMK Likas will be held on May 5 at 7pm at Port View Palace Hall (Dewan Hakka) Likas.
Chairman of the reunion dinner, Datuk Jimmy Tham, said the event was being organized to gather once again former students of the school to rekindle old friendship and to have a good fellowship among old schoolmates, former teachers and principals who would also be invited to attend the event.
Jimmy said reunion gatherings in smaller scales were held previously by student groups, especially during the festive occasions. However, many were not able to participate due to space constraints at the venues.
He expressed hope that the coming event, being organized on a bigger scale and with advance notice, will bring together more ex-students, including those currently residing in West Malaysia or other parts of the world.
Jimmy also announced that former student, Lo Mui Ngo (Evelyn), had been appointed the organizing committee chairperson for the upcoming dinner.
Even though Evelyn currently resides in Kuala Lumpur, she happily accepted the appointment in order to promote, foster and encourage the spirit of goodwill, solidarity and strong fellowship in keeping up with the high spirit of the alma-mater.
Meanwhile, Evelyn said the dinner would provide an opportunity for old schoolmates to catch up with one another, rekindle the good old times and also an opportunity to meet their former teachers to personally thank them for their invaluable past guidance which had helped establish a solid foundation for their respective successful life today.
Evelyn further stressed that besides a splendid dinner, exciting programs such as singing and dance had been lined up to light up the evening.
A magic show will also be included besides generous lucky draw cash prizes of RM1,000, RM700, RM500 and 10 consolation prizes of RM100 each. Cost for the dinner is priced at RM80 per pax for SMK Likas exstudents only and the closing date for registration is April 5.
