-

MUSIC videos for the 16 album tracks contained within Ed Sheeran’s Mar 3 release “Divide” have collectively passed one billion views on YouTube.

Lyric videos and official videos for lead tracks “Castle on the Hill” and “Shape of You” were released in January, with the latter’s pair accruing 700 million views between them.

The two “Castle on the Hill” videos have totted up 250 million views and a performance video for “How Would You Feel,” uploaded Feb 17, reached 22 million views in the two weeks since.

Another 14 tracks followed on Mar 2, taken from the standard and deluxe editions of “Divide,” with most notching around five million views as Billboard observes.

Most popular among them, however, has been first of the fresh batch, statement of intent “Eraser,” just shy of 10 million, and slow dance acoustic ballad “Perfect,” the album’s fifth track, which reached 17 million.

Meanwhile, Sheeran has plans to take the film industry by storm by starring in his own movie.

The singer/songwriter is in talks with a filmmaker about a “Notting Hill”-style British indie movie that he would both feature in and write the soundtrack for, The Sun reports.

“I don’t think I will do an album as a soundtrack, but I will definitely put together a soundtrack with a bunch of my songs on it, but I don’t think it will be an album,” Sheeran told the publication, adding that he would like to cast unknown actors only in the project.
