Marine policeman breaks leg as car hits tree

KOTA KINABALU: A marine police personnel from the state police contingent (IPK) sustained a broken leg in a road accident at Jalan Lintas, near the RTM Building in Kepayan, here early yesterday morning.

The 25-year-old victim was heading to Putatan from Austral Park when he lost control of his Naza Piconto car which hit a tree on the traffic island around 3.20am.

The victim, who was said to have broken his right leg, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by an ambulance.

Meanwhile, city police chief ACP M. Chandra said the police personnel was under doctors’ supervisio­n and was reported to be in stable condition.

Police are currently investigat­ing the case under the Rule 10 LN 166/59 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959.
