Curtin Malaysia’s foundation intake extended to April 22

-

MIRI: To cater to Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) school-leavers who have just received their results and are keen to enter Foundation programmes in Engineering and Science, Commerce or Arts, Curtin University, Malaysia (Curtin Malaysia) is extending its current Foundation programme intake to April 22.

The extension also applies to students with O-Level qualification who have yet to apply.

Though classes are due to commence on March 27 following a week-long orientation this week, the newly-enrolled students will still be able to catch up through special mini-orientation sessions in place of the formal orientation and special learning sessions for missed classes.

The students are guaranteed places in the undergraduate programmes of their choice in the university’s Faculty of Engineering and Science, Faculty of Business or Faculty of Humanities upon successful completion of their one-year Foundation programmes.

Curtin Malaysia’s Foundation programmes are intensive, focused programmes aimed at ensuring students attain the academic requirements to enter undergraduate programmes and be able to adapt to university life more confidently, both in terms of level and style of education.

To give them the best opportunity to achieve their goals, students are taught by highly experienced lecturers and have access to various academic and personal support mechanisms.

They also benefit from low student-lecturer ratios in classrooms and a variety of modern, diversified teaching methods including workshops, tutorials, laboratory projects and group work.

As Curtin Malaysia applies Curtin’s ‘triple-i’ curriculum model which embeds industry links, intercultural and indigenous awareness and interdisciplinary study into each course curriculum, learning is not confined to classrooms and indeed students find learning beyond the classroom most rewarding.

Curtin Malaysia is the largest international campus of Curtin University, a university currently ranked in the top two per cent of universities worldwide and number 10 in Australia in the highly regarded Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) 2016.

Students with outstanding results can take advantage of the Curtin Malaysia Merit Scholarships offering significant tuition fee waivers. Other financial aid such as PTPTN study loans, EPF/SOSCO withdrawal schemes and a Fee Instalment Plan are also available.

Full details can be obtained at scholarships.curtin.edu.my.

For those who are interested to visit the campus and meet with representatives from the Marketing Department, Curtin Malaysia has extended its course counselling hours from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, and 9am to 4pm on Saturdays (until April 15 only).
