Subromaniam new Customs DG
PUTRAJAYA: Datuk T. Subromaniam has been appointed the new Customs DirectorGeneral, effective yesterday, said Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa.
Subromaniam, 58, who was previously Customs Deputy Director-General (Enforcement and Compliance) takes over from Datuk Seri Khazali Ahmad.
"He has wide experience in the field of administrative management, tax management and enforcement.
"With his experience, knowledge and credibility, I believe he will bear his responsibilities effectively, and continue the department's vision of providing worldclass customs service," said Ali in a statement on the appointment.
Subromaniam has been with the civil service for more than 33 years, beginning as customs enforcement officer on July 29, 1984. - Bernama
