Linglong Tire to open 30 outlets in Malaysia by 2019

PETALING JAYA: Linglong Tire Co Ltd aims to open 30 outlets in Malaysia by 2019, prompted by good business ties fostered between Malaysia and the Chinese tyre manufacturing company.

Chairman, Wang Feng, said Malaysia was an important market in Southeast Asia as its close location to its manufacturing plant in Thailand was an advantage.

“We now have eight outlets, mostly in the Klang Valley. We will be launching the ninth outlet in Seremban later today,” he told reporters after launching the Linglong commercial tyres here yesterday.

Linglong Tire is among the top 20 global tyre manufacturers and top five in China, and have been in the Malaysian market for the last 10 years now.

The sales revenue for 2016 amounted to RM30 million, generated by the passenger car segment, and with the introduction of the new range tyres, the company targeted a 15 per cent increase in sales revenue for 2017, said Wang.

He said the company would focus on rebranding while trying to obtain SIRIM Bhd’s certification soon to embark on its expansion plans.

“We are working to expand regionally and establish stronger presence and business operations backed by the thriving and robust ASEAN economy,” he said, adding that the company also aspired to commercialise its research and development efforts.

Wang said in line with that, the company urged interested local technical colleges to collaborate withitforknowledgetransferefforts. Linglong Tire products include flat tyres for premium and continental cars, land fleet vehicle tyres from 24-wheeler trucks to agriculture vehicles like tractors, the entire series of passenger vehicles and many more.
