KOTA KINABALU: Food truck operators are now allowed to operate their eatery business at Tanjung Aru and Likas Sports Complex here.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman said he had asked Kota Kinabalu City Mayor Datuk Yeo Boon Hai to allow the food truck operators to do their business here.

He also said it was one of the ways to open up opportunities for the food truck operators to run their business and encourage people to venture in business.

Musa said more discussions would be made with the mayor in order to find more suitable places for the food trucks to operate in the city.

Musa announced the good news to the people during Musa Aman Likers gathering event, ‘Stay Stay Bossku’, at the Marina Sutera Harbour tennis court here, yesterday.

On the event, Musa said the gathering was a way for him to meet with the people and exchange ideas for the benefit of all.

He said the government was always all ears for youths to come forward to share their views and aspirations.

Musa added that the government was also committed to do the best for the success of the people.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the current government grant for entrepreneurs, which is the Sabah Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme (YESS).

He said the grants were provided for youths to open up opportunities for their businesses.

He said the scheme was also to encourage youths who had interest in business to open up their own businesses.

The grant would go to those who have their business registered, got their business licence and prepared business papers, he said.

He added that individual entrepreneurs would be eligible for a RM2,000 grant while RM5,000 grant would go to group entrepreneurs.
