PAPAR: The State Human Resource Development Department’s (JPSM) ongoing effort to upgrade its ILTP (Institut Latihan Teknik dan Perdagangan) Campus at Pantai Manis here gets a shot in the arm with the official opening of its new RM4.5 million multipurpose hall on Tuesday.

Construction of the 1000square metre multipurpose hall’s physical building was actually completed on December 31, 2014 and obtained its Occupation Certificate (OC) on December 29, 2015, but because of waiting for additional funds for its basic internal installations, its full completion was delayed until late last year.

Resource Development and Information Technology Minister Datuk Siringan Gubat, who officiated at its official opening, was pleased that the department managed to fully complete and now use the multipurpose hall, after such a long wait.

He said the new multipurpose hall was another milestone in the department’s ongoing effort to further enhance and upgrade its ILTP Campus technical and commerce skill training courses and facilities, for the benefit of young Sabahans.

While happy to note that the department has already started using the multipurpose hall on December 22, last year, as venue for its 2/2016 trainees’ batch convocation ceremony, the minister hopes the department will ensure that the new facility continue to be fully utilised not only for teaching and learning purpose but also for any suitable sport and recreational activities.

He said the ILTP multipurpose hall was also opened for public who are in need of such a facility for holding any activity or event that was allowable to be held on the campus ground.
