Lajim crticises rep over ‘disorderly’ devt in Kundasang
RANAU: Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah president Datuk Seri Panglima Lajim Ukin has expressed his disappointment with Kundasang assemblyman Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam for allegedly failing to develop the area.
“Particularly Kundasang town where the some parts of the road there are damaged and the haphazard development of the shops there.
“Before coming to this event, I took my family for a short visit to Kundasang town and I am disappointed to see the disorderly development there.
“I was also shocked to see the muddy area where the stalls were located, the lack of cleanliness in the area and the unsealed road.
“All this shows that the state assemblyman, despite holding the post of Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing had failed to carry out his duties,” Lajim claimed.
He said this when officiating Harapan Rakyat and Gabungan Sabah’s state-level Pesta Kaamatan celebration here last weekend.
Lajim who is also Klias assemblyman, pointed out that Ranau and Kundasang have huge potential for development other than just being the main attraction of visitors who want to see Mount Kinabalu.
“But it is all too bad because the area is not well managed by local leaders. Barisan Nasional has ruled this area for 24 years but it seems like it has not been able to resolve problems faced by people in Kundasang,” he lamented.
