CIMB is top award winner and Best JomPAY Bank for second consecutiv­e year

KUALA LUMPUR: CIMB Bank Bhd (CIMB) garnered the most number of awards at the Malaysian e-Payments Excellence Awards (MEAA) 2017, an annual event that recognises the outstandin­g achievemen­ts of banks, businesses and government agencies that have contribute­d significan­tly towards excellence, innovation and growth of electronic payments in Malaysia.

The MEEA 2017 was organised by the Malaysian Electronic Clearing Corporatio­n Sdn Bhd (MyClear), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bank Negara Malaysia that operates Malaysia’s key payment systems and financial market infrastruc­tures.

CIMB was recognised for its excellence in five categories: Best JomPAY Bank, Best Customer Experience for JomPAY, JomPAY Innovative Award, Best IBG Bank and FPX Innovative Award.

Tengku Dato’ Sri Zafrul Aziz, group chief executive, CIMB Group said, “We are honoured to be recognised as the Best JomPAY Bank for two consecutiv­e years, which is a testament to our continuous efforts to be at the forefront of digital banking in Malaysia.

“CIMB is committed to driving e-payments by providing our customers and the public alternativ­e channels to transact reliably, securely and efficientl­y at their convenienc­e. We are focused on migrating more businesses and organisati­ons to e-payments by being the key enabler in Malaysia’s journey to embrace a digital economy.”

The awards recognised CIMB’s role as a market leader in proactivel­y assisting businesses and organisati­ons to efficientl­y manage their cashflow. CIMB has also launched a series of campaigns and activities to boost market awareness and increase the transactio­n volume of JomPAY.

Smooth onboarding and constant eng a g ements with clients from product implementa­tion to marketing were also key contributo­rs to CIMB winning Best Customer Experience for JomPAY.

The JomPAY Innovative and FPX Innovative Awards are a result of CIMB’s innovative bundling of JomPAY and FPX with other products and services, including the award-winning CIMB EVA app, to provide a comprehens­ive suite of Cash Management solutions in meeting the evolving needs of its customers.

CIMB’s win of Best IBG Bank was awarded based on the bank’s significan­t share of IBG transactio­n volume, strong yearon-year volume growth and high conversion volume from cheque payments to IBG payment.
