32 give blood at PBS campaign

-

TAWAU: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Tanjung Batu Youth collected 32 pints of blood for the Tawau Hospital during its blood donation campaign on Wednesday.

Its Youth chief cum organizing chairman, Jhasarry Kang, said 56 people came to donate their blood and the campaign was aimed at reminding the public that the hospital was consistently in need of blood to replenish its stock, especially during the upcoming festive season.

He thanked the Tawau community for the participation in the meaningful event. He also thanked the hospital’s housemen and medical officers who participated in the campaign.

“I am glad to see the donors were multi-racial, men and women were willing to take part in donating their blood after knowing about the campaign. I recall a few of them are from one family, including mother, daughter and relatives. They came here many times without fail and they donated three pints. They felt that donating their blood is meaningful and they can save more lives. They felt proud to do so; they will continue to donate if there is another similar donation drive in future,” he said.

Meanwhile, blood bank chief Dr Siti Fatimah was very thankful to the PBS Tanjung Batu working committee for organizing such an event.

Jhasarry thanked sponsors Joo Loong Trading Sdn Bhd and Yu Chan Trading Sdn Bhd for the goodies.

He added that there would be another blood donation drive in August. For enquiries regarding blood donation, please contact 089-914289.
