Opposition promises not workable — Hiew

-

KOTA KINABALU: Opposition parties in Sabah are making more and more unfounded statements now, especially when the 14th general election is coming soon, said Luyang assemblyman Hiew King Cheu.

“They dish out lots of proposals and promises to lure the people into believing in them so that they can harvest the votes to enable them to grab power,” said Hiew.

“The point is, what they have proposed and promised can never become reality and workable.”

He said the statements issued by the opposition could be classified as unprofessional, or not even logical as far as the state administration was concerned.

“By doing so, they actually have reflected their incapability, weakness, ignorance of the facts, weak understanding on state administration, inexperience in many matters, and worst of all, they cannot even work among themselves.

“They oppose just for the sack of opposing, just to claim political mileage. A good example is their infighting when it comes to who and who should contest in the 14th general election.”

Hiew said the opposition always liked to tarnish the image of the leaders of the ruling parties.

“But how many times they can come up with solid proof?” he asked.

He said DAP Lim Kit Siang in the past had repeatedly hammered former prime ministers and former senior ministers for abuses and corruption, but was now working with these people.

“Does that mean they all have been forgotten?”

Hiew said he wished the people could evaluate the political situation clearly and select the right party to handle the state administration and to bring Sabah further into progress for the well-being of Sabahans.

“Any wrong decision can bring along much difficulties and hardship to the people, and this had been experienced in the past in Sabah.

“It is better to stick to the parties which have proven experiences, knowledge, capabilities, creditability and long service records. This is none other than the Barisan Nasional (BN). For the past six decades, its record is a shining one,” he said in a statement yesterday.
