Six motorcycles seized in police operation
KOTA KINABALU: Police checked 64 vehicles during their ongoing traffic enforcement operation in the state capital on Saturday.
City police chief ACP M Chandra said the operation was conducted at the Coastal Road, Lintas Road, Tuaran bypass, Kepayan Road and 1 Borneo area from midnight to around 2.30 am.
Ten summonses were issued, he said, adding that police also detained six motorcycles for various offences such as operating the machines without a B2 licence, modification on the machines, having expired road tax and registration plates not according to specification.
All the motorcycles have been referred to the Road Transport Department for technical check, he said.
Chandra said that they were also waiting for one of the owners to come forward to face action for allowing an individual without a B2 licence to operate the bike.
