New bus service from KK Sentral to QEH 1 and 2

-

KOTA KINABALU: Folks in the city are urged to take advantage of the multi-storey car park at the new KK Sentral (KKS) bus terminal.

City Hall (DBKK) transportation and traffic department director Kalvin Liaw said 391 parking bays are available at the multi-storey car park.

Parking fees are set at RM3 per entry for Mondays to Fridays, RM2 per entry for Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, or RM100 a month for a seasonal parking pass.

He added that the City Bus service had started operating on a new route between the KKS bus terminal and Queen Elizabeth Hospital 1 and 2 on July 1.

The City Bus service is available from 6am from KKS bus terminal, and the last bus will be at 10pm from Queen Elizabeth Hospital 1 and 2.

The frequency of service is every 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions. In addition, the bus fare charged is RM1 per trip. This rate is a flat rate at each stop along the KKS-QEH1 and 2-KKS route.

The KK Sentral bus terminal is one of the four integrated terminals proposed in the Kota Kinabalu Public Transport Master Plan.

As the other three terminals, South Integrated Terminal (Kepayan), North Integrated Terminal (Inanam) and East Integrated Terminal (Penampang) have not been constructed, the temporary bus station in front of Marina Court, Hotel Promenade and Bandaran Berjaya will still operate normally.

The public can go to the KK Sentral bus terminal using the City Bus services operating within the Central Business District and to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital 1 and 2.
