Keningau undergoing rapid progress – Sairin

-

KENINGAU: Keningau is one of the fastest growing districts in terms of housing and various developments, said Assistant Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Datuk Haji Sairin Karno.

He said the Native Court building and Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) were among the completed projects in the district.

The UTC here is one of four in Sabah. The other three are in Kota Kinabalu, Tawau and Sandakan.

Sairin, who is also Liawan assemblyman, said that many other developments were being developed and implemented in the interior.

“In terms of education development, we will have three secondary schools in Keningau in the future and one of them is SMK Sains Keningau to be established near the Keningau airport.

“SMK Dalit will be set up by early next year or later this year as well as SMK Trusmadi to be built near the foot of Mount Trusmadi, either in Sinua or in a nearby place,” he said.

He said a Community Development Department Training Center (KEMAS) to train Kemas personnel throughout Sabah and Sarawak is also in the pipeline and at present there are only two such centers in the country in Perak and Pahang respectively while for Sabah, it will be built in Keningau.

However, he said all the implemetation of these projects would depend on the availability of funds.

“I assure all the people, especially in Sabah and in the interior that BN has its own strengths and can still be trusted by grassroots leaders, including voters,” he said at his Hari Raya open house held at his father’s home in Kampung Skim Pamalan here on Sunday.

Among those attending the event were Keningau Umno deputy chief Datuk Annuar Ayub Pensiangan MCA chief Datuk Wong Wai Yuan, Keningau MCA chief Kapitan Jack Chin, Keningau Umno Wanita chief Hajah Amelia Ajun, Keningau Umno Youth chief Nik Nazri Nik Zawawi and Keningau Puteri Umno chief Hajah Salbiah Suhaideh.

At the event, Sairin and his wife Datin Bibi Farizan Amjad presented Raya money to children, single mothers, senior citizens, orphans and the poor.
