Roche Malaysia appoints Lance Duan as new MD

KUALA LUMPUR: Roche (M) Sdn Bhd (Roche Malaysia) has appointed Lance Duan as the new managing director effective July 1, 2017.

Duan will be in charge of overall business of Roche Malaysia Affiliate.

Prior to this appointmen­t, he was the Head of a Business Unit at Roche Pharma China.

He brings with him 20 years of cross-industry experience comprising pharmaceut­ical, academia and government.

Duan joined Roche in 2011 and has since held various commercial positions in the organizati­on including part of the Roche Pharma China Leadership Team since 2012.

He holds a MBA from China Europe Internatio­nal Business School and graduated from China Medical University with a degree in Clinical Medicine.

“Roche has a strong presence in Malaysia and I am pleased to be part of the Roche Malaysia pharmaceut­ical team,” Duan said.

“We will continue to improve patient access in various disease areas and look forward to collaborat­ing with diverse stakeholde­rs to ensure Malaysians have access to our innovative medicines to improve their lives,” he added.

Roche, he said, continues to see Malaysia as an important investment with the recent launch of Roche Asia Pacific Shared Service Centre that provides job opportunit­ies to skilled Malaysians in the areas of finance, procuremen­t and IT. Roche has over 150 employees. The pharmaceut­ical division is an integral part of the other Roche divisions that include Roche Diagnostic­s and Roche Asia Pacific Shared Service Centre.
