Leave BN and work with Warisan, Crispin tells PBS

-

KOTA KINABALU: Crispin Kitingan said Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) secretary general Datuk Johnny Mositun seemed to be worried and insecure over him joining Parti Warisan Sabah.

“I can only see it as such because Mositun knows that the people of Sabah irrespective of race and religion are pinning their support for Warisan,” the younger brother of Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Joseph Pairin Kitingan said in a statement here yesterday.

“For Johnny Mositun’s information, it is equally my democratic and civil rights as to when to choose the right time to be a politician. Let it be known to him that I was never interested to become a politician from my young age to this day,” he added.

Further, Crispin said he could not just sit and watch the people of Sabah continue to suffer.

“I would like to ask, what concerted and concrete efforts are being done by PBS and the local components of the BN government if they are all for the rights of the people of Sabah” he asked.

“Am I an opportunist? Why would I want to join Warisan if I am an opportunist?

“Isn’t it childish, insincere and hypocritical of Mositun to accuse me when he’s the one who is supposed to be fighting for the rights of the Sabahan people?

“What is happening to PBS now? If it is true that PBS is truly fighting for the Sabahans’ rights, I challenge PBS to leave the BN coalition and cooperate with Warisan for the future and the people of Sabah,” Crispin said.

Mositun said on Monday that it is Crispin’s political and civil rights to join any political party.

“The question is not Crispin joining Warisan or any other political party for that matter, despite him being Pairin’s brother,” he said.

“The question is why Crispin chose Shafie (Datuk Shafie Apdal) and Darell (Darell Leiking), the two main persons behind Warisan,” he added.

Mositun claimed Shafie had never been known to fight for Sabah’s rights until he fell out of favour from Umno.

As for Darell, he betrayed his constituents’ trust and mandate by dumping the party on whose platform he became a Parliament member, on the perception that they are able to change the BN government then, said Mositun.
