KPMM-Mapex Expo eyes RM1 bln in sales
PETALING JAYA: Organisers of the Affordable Housing Carnival (KPMM), together with the Malaysia Property Expo (Mapex), expect to achieve at least RM1 billion in sales of affordable houses during the event this year.
Mapex chairman, Datuk Ng Seing Liong, said the KPMMMAPEX three-day expo, to begin on Aug 11, 2017 at the Shah Alam Convention Centre, would offer some 100,000 affordable houses by over 50 developers, priced from RM130,000 to RM500,000.
“The housing carnival will help buyers find their dream homes by offering various types of affordable houses, as well as properties with attractive discounts and promotions, all under one roof,” he told a press conference yesterday.
Apart from offering a wide range of properties with attractive promotions, the event would also feature several properties with special Bumiputera discounts, said Ng.
“We are anticipating over 60 developers and government agencies as well as financial institutions to participate in the event,” he said, adding that with the support from developers, government agencies and financial institutions, Mapex would continue to be the right platform connecting buyers to their dream homes.
The participants of the KPMM-MAPEX would include Glomac Bhd, IJM Land Bhd, MKH Bhd, UEM Sunrise Bhd, Mitraland Group, Matrix Concepts Holding Bhd and several agencies under the National Housing Department.
On the outlook for the property industry for the second half of 2017, Ng, who is also former President of the Real Estate And Housing Developers’ Association Malaysia, said the association expected it to be stable, backed by the improving economy.
“Our members said that they are starting to get more property buyers for their housing projects,” he said. — Bernama
