22 ATI students join field trip to Kota Belud

KOTA KINABALU: ATI College organized a field trip to 3V Eco Tourism Nahaba, Kota Belud for two days, from July 15 as one of the requiremen­ts needed to fulfil the students’ passing grade for the subject of Nature Tourism.

Lecturer in School of Tourism Devyn Daleowen bin Dusi is responsibl­e for planning and managing the entire trip which was participat­ed by 22 students of Diploma in Tourism Management programme.

The project is equivalent to 100% of the total passing marks for Nature Tourism subject.

Other than that, the field trips aim to develop critical thinking, endorse better communicat­ion and teamwork and expose among the students to one of the attraction in Kota Belud.

Moreover, the lecturer can enhance his rapport among the students.

“With careful management, the field trip went smoothly according to the plan and has achieved its expected outcomes.

Devyn Daleowen said the students would be able to get all the informatio­n by site inspection and interview with the personnel of the 3V Eco Tourism Nahaba needed for the assessment which was given earlier to the students.

In addition, the students were able to explore the diversity of our flora and fauna and unique culture of the local people in Nahaba village.

Overall, the field trip was successful­ly organized and met its objectives to give a real life education in addition to the classroom lesson.

“We believe we shouldn¡¦t hesitate to conduct a similar event or activities in the near future which will increase our reputation as an institutio­n which emphasizes on giving the best way of education to our students,” concluded Devyn Daleowen.
