KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Institute of Art (SIA) students celebrated their graduation night with friends and families on July 15. The Graduating Class of 2017 descended on Kimanis Ballroom at Hyatt Regency Kinabalu for their celebratory party straight after the convocation ceremony at YTL Hall, UMS earlier that day.

Gracing the celebrations was Deputy Speaker of State Legislative Assembly, Datuk Dr Johnson Tee, who heartily congratulated the students in his inspiring speech.

The Academic Director of SIA, Muhammad Hatta Bin Dahli, who is also the organizing chairman of the event, bade farewell to the graduating seniors and welcomed them as they transit into alumni life.

“Never stop learning, because life never stops teaching,” stressed Muhammad Hatta as he exhorted them to stay connected to each other after graduation.

The guests that evening were welcomed by a gallery of fashion design ensemble tailor-made by SIA fashion design graduates. The evening was then followed by authentic performances of fellow music graduates alongside their juniors.

Everyone was treated to a fine meal experience, peppered with soulful pop hits by talented musicians. The evening wrapped up with a collaborated performance by the music lecturer and students as photo sessions and final good byes filled the air.

Also present was SIA Chief Executive Officer Datuk Wilson Yong.
